

Lake Murray, SC – Judith A. Urban (Flack), a beloved mother known for her creative spirit and diverse interests, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, at the age of 87. Formerly of Sewell and Ocean City, NJ.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Judy was a graduate of Woodbury High School. Her passion for learning led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at Dickinson College after which she taught second grade at Oak Valley School in Wenonah, NJ. She married her high school sweetheart, Frank J. Urban, and they shared 24 years together before his passing.
A devoted mother, Judy created an idyllic childhood for her 2 daughters. Even after becoming a widow at a young age, she persevered, returning to school to earn her speech correction credential. She worked as a speech correctionist for the Waterford School District for 12 years until her retirement.
"Jude" was a true Renaissance woman, embracing life's many facets. She was a skilled cross-stitcher, knitter, photographer, scrap wood aficionado, power tool user and avid birdwatcher. She found joy in exploring thrift stores like Goodwill and Restore, always on the lookout for unique treasures. Her love for technology was evident in her coordination of monthly Zoom meetings with her lifelong friends from Dickinson College's Drayer Hall.
Judy was predeceased by her husband, Frank J. Urban, her parents, Carl and Alice Flack, and her beloved canine companions. Snoopy, her most recent companion, met her at the Rainbow bridge. She is survived by her loving daughters, Kathy and Diane, and her sister, Nancy Mossop.
Private burial will be in NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to a charity of your choice.
