Linda Lee Butler Underwood

Service for Linda Butler Underwood, 79, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Irmo First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo and following the service at the church. Mrs. Underwood passed away Friday, October 27, 2017. Born in Chatsworth, GA, she was the daughter of the late Olin McIntyre Butler and Lois Black Butler. She received her BA in 1960 from Mercer University. Linda was a social worker with the States of Georgia and South Carolina having worked with those State’s Department of Social Services and eventually retiring from South Carolina’s Department of Mental Health following 29 years of service. She was an active member of Irmo First Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. Linda enjoyed sharing her love and talent by singing hymns, playing the piano, and hosting sing-alongs for the Bethany Unit patients at The Heritage at Lowman Home. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Underwood (Jonathan) Crumly; son, Russell Brannon Underwood; grandchildren, Jonathan Dean Crumly Jr., William Sadler Crumly, Caleb McIntyre Crumly, Caroline Leigh Crumly, Emelia Rose Crumly, Benjamin Michael Crumly and Samuel Charles Crumly.
