

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. Burial will be private at Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. There will also be a livestream of the service.
Patricia was born in Utica, New York on May 1, 1939 to John and Fannie Giruzzi. While studying nursing at Erie County Technical College which is now known as University of Buffalo, she was on the Golf Team, a Cheerleader and most importantly met her future husband. After graduation, Patricia and Ron moved to Syracuse and then made a home in New Jersey before settling in Columbia in 1982. Patricia retired from Northeast Family Practice after several years of service. She will be remembered for her kind heart and ever present smile. She enjoyed going to the beach and wintering at St. Pete’s Beach, Florida where she made many friends. Most importantly, she loved her children and spoiling her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Ronald John Powers, Sr.; siblings, John F. Giruzzi, Jr., Corrine J. Giruzzi Filletti (Carmen), Franklin B. Giruzzi (Angela); a niece, Susan Giruzzi; and a nephew, Carmen Bruno Filletti. Those left to cherish her memories include her four children, Kathy Costagliola (Sal), John Powers (Tammy), Ron Powers (Lori), Joe Powers (Lynda); eleven grandchildren, Kristina Powers, Joey Powers, Nick Costagliola, Susie Costagliola, Ashley Powers, Alyssa Powers, Matthew Powers, Ronnie Powers, Grace Costagliola, Catie Powers, Jessie Powers; sister-in-law, Carmela Giruzzi; and many nieces and nephew that she loved like her own children.
Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
