

A Celebration of Life Service for Patrick Bernard “Pat” Takach, 64, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Christian Life Assembly of God, Brown’s Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. at the church prior to the service. Please come dressed casually for the celebration of Pat’s life. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family.
Pat died Saturday, February 7, 2015, following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late John Joseph and Eleanor Hollis Takach. He graduated from Cardinal Newman High School and earned a Master’s degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of S.C. Always an entrepreneur, teacher and mentor, he was a Franchise owner of numerous Physicians Weight Loss Centers throughout the Southeast. Pat loved traveling and was an avid Gamecock fan. A generous and caring person, he touched the lives of many people through acts of selflessness and generosity. He enjoyed fine dining and loved music. One of his favorite activities was watching the sunset on his boat at Lake Murray.
Surviving are his son, Chancellor Takach and his mother, Roberta, of Chapin; daughter, Kristin Takach and her mother, Melissa, of Chapin; sister, Chris Neal of Chapin; brother, Jim Takach (Cindy) of Chapin; nieces and nephews, Merit Takach, Stacey Kirkland, Scott Neal and their father, Sam Neal, Bridget Swindall (Devin), Jimmy Takach (Jenny), Brianna Takach, Cory Takach (Brittni), Kayla Takach; and numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by three brothers, Mark Takach, John Takach, Bob Takach; and a daughter, Savannah Takach.
Memorials may be made to Life Savers of Central America, 102 Cabin Creek Court, Lexington, SC 29073, where Patrick was involved with missions, helping to bring food, medical supplies and the love of Jesus to the people of Nicaragua or Hollings Cancer Center, Medical University of SC, 86 Jonathan Lucas Street, Charleston, SC 29425.
