I just this moment heard Ron had been sick and immediately reached  out to him. Dianne, I’m devastated to learn he just passed away and I am too late.  I feel worse that he had left his number for me to call him and I did not see that message.  I was Ron’s manager years ago when he was in the medical field at Deknatel.  In rapid order I soon learned more from him than he could ever learn from me.  And I always stood firmly in his corner.  

We maintained a superb working relationship and friendship that originated in 1994.   I so regret my health had me out of his loop.  Ron was a fine man and I am not at all surprised to learn he worked for Angel Flights.  But the happiest he was during the years I knew him was when he met and married you.  Ron never met a stranger and was very highly respected by his medical customers and colleagues.  

Heaven has gained one fine Angel.  But the world we still live in seems a little less bright.  I will make a donation in his honor.  You are sincerely in my prayers, and I share in your sadness. 🙏 — ￼ He was a man of utter kindness and character. 

I met Ron several years ago when I joined CAREstream. He was one of the first folks to reach out to me and share his experiences and ideas.  We will miss him.  My prayers go out to his family.

I knew Ron for the last 15 years. I met him through flying at Owens Field. I flew with him in his V-Tail Bonanza and he flew with me in our various planes. I understand he was interested in aviation in high school and used flying for recreation and business.  He was a patriot and a dear friend. Godspeed as you fly West to meet your maker.

I am so incredibly sadden to hear about Ron's passing. I was fortunate enough to meet Ron at last year's CAREstream sales meeting.  He was so wonderfully kind to the newest (and nervous) member of the team. He gave me the boost of confidence I needed as he told me to call him for anything, even if it was just to talk on the road! 
My deepest condolences to Ron's loved ones. May the love and memories you share bring you comfort.

Ron and I developed a friendship over the "Pandemic" years.  Ron would always say Tina "God is in control of this world" and it's gonna all work out according to his plan.

Earlier this year Ron told me that his plane had been broken into by some "Frat" Boys.  He laughed a little about the fact that one of them had left their wallet at the scene.  Ron got in touch and found out that the person who left their wallet was enrolled in medical school and that his father was also a doctor.  While Ron could have pressed charges, he chose to let them worry over the situation for about  3 weeks to "teach them a lesson".  Now his lesson was of Grace and Mercy and that is the kind of Godly Man that Ron was.  While he wanted to teach them a life lesson he also wanted to be the extension of God's hand and feet and mostly God's heart.  When he announced that  he would not press charges, he said he never seen someone so remorseful and grateful.  What a testimony of God's love and Ron's love for mankind.  I will miss his great laugh and his sense of humor.  See you in Heaven one day Ron!!

Ronnie and I started at Richland County Sheriff’s Dept together in June of 1975.
He was a good friend all these years and I always enjoyed talking with him in the gym.
He may have not been a giant of a person but he had a tremendous heart to always help others.

My dad connected me with Ron a couple years ago first being that I was going to university of South Carolina and Ron took my friends and I put on his plane and out to now one of my favorite restaurants, blue marlin. We kept in touch but I really had the pleasure to get to know Ron when I started my passion for medical device sales. Ron scored me my first interview and gave me so much of his advice and wisdom. He’s the type of not just medical device sales person I want to be, he’s the type of person I want to be- kind, caring, giving, and just so incredibly genuine. He made such an impact on my life and I will always remember him and the hospitality he showed me when I moved to Columbia and the support he showed me when I was looking for my passion.

 I'm so sorry to hear about Ron.  
He was always so engaging and loved his family.   I was a nurse on 6 long where he took care of his mom and I was excited for him to meet you.  Ron always was talking about you and his love for God. 
I will remember fondly flying with him AFTER he landed his plane on I-26.  I often saw him picking up dinner for the both of you.  Ron adored/loved you and I know you adored/loved him.

This was way too fast.  We’ve known Ronnie since we moved to Columbia in 1983.   We used to run Broad River Road together when we lived at Essex Park. We’ve been fortunate to have him in the neighborhood for almost 20 years. He will be missed so much by all that knew him.

First met Ron at Madelines white coat ceremony. I really enjoyed meeting him as he was welcoming and had a great sense of humor. To see him there supporting my partner, Madeline, is a tribute to his dedication to supporting friends and family. A dedication that left an impression on many I am sure. Rest In Peace Ron

I worked with Ron for 3.5 years and also was born/raised in Columbia. As an Irmo High grad, I would tease Ron relentlessly about attending Dreher. I knew Ron to be a tireless, compassionate worker in the Medical Device arena. Prayers for Ron's family and we will miss Him greatly as both friend and colleague.

I met Ron so many’s years ago when he was a salesman at Genzyme . He would have the girls in the department laughing every time he called in. We all loved his laughter and southern charm. He would speak how much he loved his wife and after so many years as a bachelor he found the perfect lady! 
My deepest sympathy . My prayers to Diane, May he Rest In Peace I am sure he is going to have the angels laughing. 

Ron was a great friend and colleague. I was Ron's Midwest counterpart with Carestream and we shared a lot of talk time on the road while working our territory. It was great having a fellow road warrior to share stories with.  When we figured out that his wife's family had roots in Beach Park IL, where my family's clinic is located we became more like brothers. Our families knew each other for more than 60 years and had a lot of interactions. We talked about Ron visiting the family airstrip in Door County WI. My family had a love affair with the Bonanza also. Ron I will miss you. My condolences to your family. Rest in Peace.

I am so sorry to hear of this. Ron was always supportive of me and willing to talk and share ideas. He was inspiring to work with. Praying for his family.

I'm in utter shock although I knew he was very ill. Ron and I remained friends for over 50 years. We were on the Dreher High band. Ron always sat in the rear of the band bus with the Black kids so we could have fun. When we were in high school, Ron was recruited to play drums with James Brown and his band during the James Brown concert when Mr. Brown's drummer became ill. Ron became an instant celebrity after that. We chatted at least twice a year. I am so sad beyond words...😔

Ron would do anything for anybody, and our family was no exception. My husband and I met Ron at our gym many moons ago, where he invested not only in his health, but in the people around him as well. He truly cared for us, and asked us each week how we were doing. We often talked about our struggles and how God was working through us in difficult times. If there’s one thing I knew, it was where Ron stood in his relationship with God. We attended Shandon’s Singing Christmas Tree, where Ron, serving as a usher, greeted our family as we walked in. He attended every gathering that we had for our gym friends, and often asked when the next one would be- he loved people! He re-wrote my resume and strived to help me when searching for a job. He took our kids up in his airplane to see the city, and he even flew Jeff and me to Myrtle Beach with him and Diane for a double-date. Funny story: The plane was acting up, so we ended up having to rent a car and drive back- Diane wasn’t taking any chances getting back in the plane!  I am grateful for his friendship. He was a living example of giving more than he had to make everyone else comfortable. I am forever grateful for his example and his unwavering friendship. 
I will miss him so very much in our classes and around the gym, as well as a true friend. 

We are so heartbroken.  He was so good to all of us.  Always was willing to help and go out to dinner.  He was so easy to be around. Paul knew him for so many years.  He has touched us.  He helped me find doctors for Allison, told me what hospital she should go to, took her and her roommates for a ride in his plane and then mentored her to go into medical sales.  He went out of his way.  All the time.  He didn't just give Allison advice.  He wanted her resume.  He set her up with an company to interview with.  He met her for lunch to help with building a resume and to teach her how to network.  He was ALL IN.  He was open, honest, genuine and kind.  We could not have known a better person.  After I get over the sadness, I will concentrate on being so lucky to have known him.  God bless.  Jill Ruff
