Born in Columbia, SC, on November 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm and Rose Johnson. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Col (ret) Allen Crosby Livingston, and her 4 children, Teresa Atkins (Crawford), Dr. A. Crosby Livingston, Jr. (Bonnie), Lisa A. Hayes, and Flynn T. Livingston (Amee). She was the proud “Grandmommy” to 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter to whom she always told, “I love you ‘infinity’.”
She was the oldest of six children and is survived by Tommy Johnson (Stacy), Rita Griner, Bobby Johnson (Catherine), and Kathy Scurry (Johnny), and was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Johnson.
Although she attended the University of South Carolina, she said her best decision was to marry a Clemson grad. The latest addition to the family was Dabo, her pup.
As a military wife and mom, Rose Anne was the glue during the many tours and deployments of her husband. She oversaw 35 moves of her family. She was a lover of life who found the best in every person and place they lived.
Many people describe Rose Anne as strong and passionate in her beliefs. She often took leadership roles as an officer’s wife and continued to do so through her work in her church community, especially in causes close to her heart such as Threads of Love. While these were important to her, she would readily tell you that she was most proud of her children. She considered each as her legacy saying, “My children are the best thing I’ve ever done, my greatest accomplishment.”
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Rose Anne’s favorite charity.
Services will be on Thursday, August 19, 2021. The family will receive visitors from 11:30 to 1:30 in the Ministries and Administrations Building of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m., followed by burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
