Jeff had a deep passion for life and the outdoors. He found joy in flying, boating, target shooting, jeeping, and building —always with a project underway and a purpose in his hands. He loved nothing more than spending time with friends and family, especially teaching his grandchildren everything he knew. His spirit of adventure was matched only by his generous heart.
At age 18, Jeff proudly served in the United States Air Force as a B-52 mechanic, a role that sparked a lifelong love of aviation. After his service, Jeff channeled his hardworking nature into the world of generators, where he founded a company that would create lifelong careers for many.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; son Ken Britton (Serena); stepson Thomas Bigham (Rachel); grandchildren Trace and Trevor Britton, and Presley and Bentley Bigham; sisters Pat Barr (Jim) and Marcia Britton (Lorin); and brother Chris Britton (Michelle); brothers-in-laws Stan Cooper, Steven Cooper, and Rodney Cooper.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas Jefferson Britton Sr (Bud) and Mary Britton, and his brother Kevin Britton.
Jeff’s love for life, unwavering dedication to his family, and his generous spirit will be remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
A visitation for Jeff will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 10:00 am at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow St, Irmo, South Carolina 29063, with a memorial service at 11:00 am. A reception will follow the service at the funeral home.
