Thomas Manning Gault Jr.

A memorial service for Thomas Manning Gault, Jr. 80, of Irmo, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Chapin United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jody Flowers and Rev. Paul Allen. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service in the fellowship hall.

Mr. Gault passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014. Born March 18, 1934 in Jonesville, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas Manning Gault and Rose Cunningham Gault.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elizabeth Matheson Gault “Betty”, mother of Deanne Easterling Catoe (Dwayne). He was preceded in death by Shirley Gardner Gault, mother of Thomas Manning Gault III and Debra Gault Gooch. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by a sister, Jayne Gault Cowsert; and brother-in-law, Clark Cowsert; four grandchildren, Jordan Hinson, CJ Hinson, Emily Gooch, Catherine Lincoln and four great-grandchildren.

Tom was a member of Chapin United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Arcadia Lodge 94 of Free Masons and Jamil Temple. Tom retired from United Insurance Company.
