Althea Irene Shanks of Jackson, Michigan passed away on Tuesday February 20, 2024 under the compassionate care at Henry Ford Allegiance at the age of 67. She will be remembered by her life partner of 41 years, Peter Ghannam; sons, Jimmy Snider Sr. and Jason Snider; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Mack Shanks and Lorraine Irene Straub; brothers; sisters; daughter-in-law; and Buddy, her beloved dog. Althea was born in Jackson, Michigan on January 28, 1957. She worked as a caregiver for over 27 years, and in her spare time loved to gamble and cook family recipes. She touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services scheduled at this time.
