In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline Dulworth; sister, Linda Brinkle; step-children, Lee Gensheimer and Cari Gensheimer McTaggart. He was born August 26, 1936 in Barlow, Kentucky to Cecil William and Etta Pearl (Moore) Dulworth. Cecil worked with his father on the family farm in KY growing up, so he knew the hard work it required. He played a lot of baseball during his early years, and continued playing softball into his 40's after coming to MI. As a young man, he worked for Goodyear making tires, later getting his CPA degree thru Jackson Community College and Eastern Michigan University. After early employment at Willis, Drake & Watters in Jackson, MI he opened his own firm in Jackson, Dulworth, Dove & Hickey, later becoming Dulworth & Pickford, where he did business until retirement in 2005. Cecil was brought up in the Baptist Church and was an active member and treasurer of Southwest Baptist Church in Jackson and later attended the First Methodist Church in Jackson and First United Methodist Church in Chelsea MI. He could surprise you with his knowledge of the bible. Cecil was an avid bird hunter, spending many hours in the woods with his son enjoying the bird dogs they raised over the years. He was also an addicted golfer for many years as a member & treasurer of Arbor Hills Country Club in Jackson and member at Polo Fields in Ann Arbor. He spent winters in Port St. Lucie, FL as a member of the Santa Lucia River Club, where he continued to golf until health prevented his participation. Cecil was also treasurer for over 15 years for the Tims Lake Preserve Home Owners Association where they reside in Grass Lake, so he could stay involved in his community. Cecil was a kind, devoted husband/father/grandfather, and, as a rule, preferred family time to outside groups, though he made many friends in his KY hometown and in the Jackson area. He participated in a number of family activities, at times reluctantly, but was very good at most of them! He was a quiet man who had a relaxed sense of humor and took all in life as it came, dealing with trials and joys equally. He took his responsibilities seriously, so could always be counted on when needed. He will be very much missed by his family and friends. The family will receive friends at the First United Methodist Church of Chelsea (128 Park Street Chelsea, Michigan 48118) on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, followed by a private family service.
