She had a quick wit, such candor and dry sense of humor.  A very special person who will be greatly missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with Her devoted husband George and family.

Great childhood memories of time with the Steigers.   Sheila was one of only a couple brave enough to host the entire Brender 8 for dinner parties when we were young.  Dinners at the Steigers was a treat.  So too were trips to Cedar Pointe (where you ate out the night before at a nice restaurant and then stayed at a hotel) and other times at Charter Oaks that included picnics in their yard (playing Jarts!), swimming at the club, playing pool at the clubhouse, and biking to Metro (on the side of Metro Parkway!).  Sheila would have us stay over for a couple days, one kid at a time.  She always made it special.  

Sheila was not only a neighbor and friend to my parents, but she and George were part of our Brender family when we were growing up.  I cherish memories of holidays and birthdays because the Steigers were always part of the celebrations.

Sheila was also my godmother, and I was so fortunate to have her in my life growing up.  She spoiled me rotten...my first two-wheel bike,stylish new clothes, bridies, sleepovers, and outings to the L-Bow room and other restaurants for steak dinners.  The list goes on.  She always made me feel extra special.

What I will cherish the most are the times spent with her and George, especially those trips to Cedar Point and the cottage at Higgins Lake.  I learned to mix martinis and gin and tonics at an age much earlier than most.  

Joey and I send our thoughts, prayers, and love to George, Tom, and Tom's family.  She was a special person who will be missed but always remembered and forever cherished.

The Steigers were our extended family growing up. They were one of the few families who would host dinner for the the eight Brenders. No holiday or gathering would be complete without Sheila's famous spinach souffle!

Sheila filled my childhood with  many vacations, dinners at the L-Bow Room, shopping excursions and her annual reading of The Night Before Christmas!  Thank you for the wonderful Memories.

Sheila and George and Tom were our "across the street" neighbors when we lived in Roseville.  We enjoyed many holidays and other events together.  We shared the good times and the sad ones as well. Both Sheila and George were godparents to two of our kids. Sheila always read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to our kids and Tommy on every Christmas Eve.  She always read it with a heavy Scottish brogue.  Our son, Garet, has continued this tradition over the years on Christmas Eve to our grandchildren ..  reading it out of the same book that Sheila used.  

We will always treasure the relationship we shared for so many years. The memories of our friendship will linger on for years to come. She touched our lives.
