

Passed from this life on August 4, 2012, at the age of 100, in the loving care of her family. She was a long time resident of Jackson and was retired from Jackson Public Schools, where she worked as a teacher’s aide. She was active in the community as a PTA volunteer at Trumbull school, Boy and Girl Scout leader, and a voting precinct worker for many years. She was a member of Northeast Missionary Church. She volunteered with Friends of the Eastern Branch Library and worked many hours at the Book Cellar. She helped make countless quilts for charitable causes as a member of Cut-Ups at her church.
Celia is survived by her son James, of Jackson; daughter, Jane (Dallas) Roth of Fort Wayne, Indiana; four grandchildren, Craig (Suzanne) Giroux of Savannah, Georgia, Travis (Nicole) Roth, Todd (Amber) Roth, and Chelsea (Gary) Prough; two great-grandchildren, Lydia and Claire Roth of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two sisters, Dorothy (Ray) Morse of Huntington, West Virginia, and Helen (James) Crosbie of Pennville, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Grant, grand-daughter Amanda Giroux-Pohl, and seven brothers and sisters.
Celia has chosen cremation, and there will be no calling, at her request. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of the Eastern Branch Library or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
