It has been a year since you left this world to soon.
You are missed every day .  Your spirit lives on.
    each of us in our own way , are  reminded daily of what you meant to us and the impact you had in our lives .  Your selfless service and your love of country are a large part of your life . But each of us will also remember you for the personal moments we shared with you .  You made an impact on everyone of us who were lucky enough to have had you in our lives and you will be missed more then words can say. 
   I was lucky enough to have known you for all but one year of my life , and it was this last one .  Not only was it a long one but it was somehow empty knowing you weren't there or at least a phone call away .  Some called you Sargent some called you son one called dad one called you husband   I was lucky enough to call you my big brother. I'll keep the faith till I see you again .

My condolences to Chris' family. Chris and I were in the MP NCO Academy together as well as the 978th Military Police Company. He is a true professional who is the epitome of what and who a Non-Commissioned Officer is. He was not overly aggressive nor was he passive or indecisive. I would have loved to have him as my Sergeant when growing up in the Army. Chris, I have missed you in recent times and will continue to miss you. I know you are retired from the Army, but the Army lost a great leader, we lost a great brother, and the America lost a great veteran. RIP Big Sarge -

I am sorry for your loss, Chris and I went to school together and played baseball together. He was a good man, and a true hero to all that knew him

So sorry to hear of your loss. He is a hero to many people that knew him and didn't get the chance to know him. With a grandson currently serving as a M.P. in the army I am sad for the loss everyone will feel. Having known the family and working with Chris' father, I'm sorry.

I did not know Sgt. Gallas but I worked with his father.  This is so sad and my prayers go out to his family.  We, as a nation, are blessed to have men like Sgt. Gallas who made the ultimate sacrifice for us.  "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." (John 15:13)May the Lord comfort his family.

RIP 1SG Gallas, you were a great Leader to all your Soldiers and great Friend/mentor to many.  We will miss you on this green Earth but we know you will be watching from up above.  So, go rest high on that Mountain, Papa G.

What an honor to have known Chris, as already has been said a very humble man. Chris truly was loved and respected.

One of the greatest moments in my life was meeting Chris as my brother. He was one in a million. Heartfelt conversations about his life,and our lives, the lives brought together by Kari, our sister. I watched all us siblings bond together. So striking was his love for the men and women he served with.  He had a wicked sense of humor and eyes that twinkled mischievously.  He once told me he had seen things no man should see, I seen the sadness in his eyes when he spoke of such tragic untold stories. I had not talked to Chris in a while, this pains me. Yet I can hear him saying, "of all people, I get you". Im so grateful to his awesome wife, Cathleen Gallas and his Mom, Marie and dad, Joseph for sharing the beautiful man they all loved. My heart is heavy, but I'm so proud to have gotten to meet my brother, a great man.. God is taking care of him now xo

A wonderful leader and a great man. Learned so much from you. May you find peace. We have the watch now.

It was the greatest honor to follow your legacy of leadership for two separate units in the Army. Thank you for your great display of genuine leadership. You will truly be missed brother! RIP

I hung out with Sgt Gallas and his wife years ago when I lived in El Paso with my ex boyfriend who worked with him. Sgt Gallas was such a nice guy. My heart breaks for everyone. My ex boyfriend passed away in 2008 as well so I'm sure you guys are doing some PT right now and smiling down on everyone. RIP!

So sorry to hear this. Bill and I knew Chris as a young soccer player in Chelsea, MI.  Could not find a better person.  R.I.P. Chris.

One of the first crushes I had growing up. Chris was always funny and kind. He loved playing pranks on me and his little sister's whenever I spent the night. We used to swim in their lake for hours.  Some of my fondest childhood memories revolved around this thoughtful man and his family. He will always be remembered as a selfless, humble person who lived his Catholuc faith through words and deeds. Truly an angel here on earth...gone way too soon. We love you and will miss you desperately.

A true class act,I had the pleasure as serving as one of his squad leaders down range with the 591st MP company. Always will remember our good natured ribbing as I am a Buckeye and him a wolverine!!
