

Of Chelsea, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 in El Paso, Texas at the age of 50. Chris suffered from Cardiac Arrest brought on by PTSD as a result of combat exposure. He was born in Santa Maria, California on June 27, 1966. He proudly served in the United States Army as a member of the Military Police Corps and retired in 2012 after nearly 24 years of faithful service. Chris loved all sports and was a lifelong U of M football fan. He also enjoyed cooking, skydiving, fishing and rescuing animals. He is survived by his wife, Cathleen and his son Kyle; parents, George and Carole Gallas; siblings, Joseph Gallas, Maria Gallas and Gloria (Matt) Koernke. His other brothers and sisters, Patti Ramelli, Henry (Karen) Ramelli, Karie (Jerry) Williford and Matt Hughes as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Queen of Miraculous Medal Church in Jackson, Michigan on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Timothy MacDonald and Father Timothy Nelson officiating. 1SG Gallas will be laid to rest at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Friday at 1:30 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
