Clare Walter Piepkow

Of Jackson, MI, went to be with the Lord on November 23, 2016 at the age of 82. He died peacefully at home under the loving care of his family and support from Great Lakes Hospice. Clare served in the Army from 1955 to 1957. He was a welder by trade and retired from Ingham County Road Commission where he worked for many years. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Clare is survived by his children, Cheryl (Roger) Longoria and Timothy (Dawn) Piepkow; eight grandchildren: Meredith Longoria, Jenna (Ryan) Altenberndt, Ethan, Heath, Seth, Thaniel, Worth, and Wyeth Piepkow; one great grandchild, Julius Ryan Altenberndt; and sister, Nancy (Kenny) Maitland. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 55 years, Lalah (Jolley) Piepkow; sisters, Betty Noakes and Mary Garred. A celebration of Clare’s life with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the First Church of Nazarene (3905 Clinton Rd (M-50)) at 11:00am. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 at the funeral home from 6:00pm-8:00pm and again at the church from 10:30am until time of service.
