Darell Dean Walling, age 91, of Jackson, Michigan passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022. He was born January 11, 1931 in Jackson, MI to his parents John and Helen Walling. Darell enjoyed working with his hands and had a knack for woodworking, gardening and fishing. A true hard worker, he retired from Tompkin Johnson - Vicker after 40 years. He is survived by his children Timothy (Anita) Walling, Tammy Pierce, Daniel Walling, Dawn (Tom) Moorehead, Brian Walling, and Fr. James Walling CPM; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Marley (Eunice) Walling and John (Ruth) Walling. Darell was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Elizabeth Walling and his parents. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church (120 E Wesley St, Jackson, MI 49201) with Fr. James Walling officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at the church on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Darell will be laid to rest at Roseland Memorial Gardens.
