Of Jackson, passed away at the age of 81 on Saturday, November 24, 2018 under the care of her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Ann; her grandson, Raymond Gene Worsham; two brothers, Ronald Smith and Gerald Smith; as well as a niece, Ruby Ann Smith. Darlene will be remembered by her three children, David (Elaine) Worsham, Raymond Worsham, and Vicki Fairchild; eight grandchildren, Sarai Worsham, Joel (Megin) Worsham, Daniel Orris, Crystal (Joseph) Fiero, Brianna Miller, Rebekah Fairchild, Natalie Fairchild, and Brian (Carla) Fairchild; nine great grandchildren; four sisters, Gloria (Paul) Johaanson, Carolyn Smith, Sandra (Alfred) Braybrook, and Diane Stevens; as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. Darlene was born in Jackson on October 8, 1937 to Llewellyn and Virginia (Sweet) Smith. She is a 1955 graduate of Jackson High and retired from State Prison of Southern Michigan. She had a strong faith in the Lord and she accepted the calling to attend Elim Bible Institute in New York, then became a missionary and served in England. She had a passion for music and taught her children to appreciate and play the piano. Darlene touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. According to her wishes, cremation has been chosen and a Celebration of her Life will be held at Jax Naz Church (3905 Clinton Road Jackson, Michigan) on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to assist the family will be greatly appreciated.
