David Eugene Cox

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our Husband, Father and Grandfather on February 28, 2024. Surrounded by his loving family to the end, we are comforted knowing he is in heaven and no longer in any pain or discomfort. He was born in Jackson, MI on January 13, 1941 to Robert E. and Mary C. (King) Cox. Dave was a proud veteran and loved riding motorcycles (especially his Harley's). He also loved nature, classic cars, drag racing, horse-trading, flying, and most importantly, his family. A skilled mechanic and maintenance technician, Dave owned and operated a lawnmower repair business from his home. He was a jack of all trades and truly enjoyed keeping busy! Dave is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil Rider and sister, Kathleen Clark. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; children, Kevin (Nati) Cox, Sherri (Bob) Schittenhelm, Kimberly Cox, Karen Graves (Randy), Misty (Jason) Frazier; stepchildren, Amy (Eric) Walker, Tammy Bean; grandchildren, Josh, Reis, Tess, Brytney, Trey, Holly, Cade, Jade, Jamie, Coda, Jonathan, Zoe, Dominique, Cohnor and Caden. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home with visitation from 12:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dave's memory may be made to the American Legion.
