Of Jackson, passed away peacefully at his home in Somerset Center on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the age of 76. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Sandra (Behm) Bishop; four children, Vicki (Steve) Larmee, Randy Matteson, Doug (Jane) Bishop, and John (Tracy) Matteson; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Eimer; as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Bishop and Jack McCann and sister, Dorothy Largen. Donald was born in Jackson to Fredrick and Eunice (Hatch) Bishop on October 27, 1939. He attended Jackson Public Schools and returned to Jackson after proudly serving in the United States Navy. He then retired from Kelsey-Hayes after 30 years of service. Donald enjoyed life; he was a hardworking family man and touched the hearts of many. He will be greatly missed. According to his wishes cremation has been selected and a service honoring his life will be held at a later date.
