

Ella Mae Coleman (Patterson) was born the eldest of eleven kids to Issac Sr. and Inez Patterson on September 25, 1947 in Swiftown, MS. She departed her life on April 11, 2015. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie B. Coleman on August 13th, 1967 in Wichita, KS. From that unity two children were born: one daughter, Tammy L. (Dionne) Rey and one son, Cedrick (La’Shauna) Coleman. Ella graduated from Amanda Elzy School in Greenwood, MS in 1966. She was a life-long caregiver. She retired from the Chelsea United Methodist Retirement Home in 2007. Anyone that knew Ella “Dunsa” knew that she loved bingo, knitting blankets with designs for her grandkids and the casino. Her hobbies were fishing, bingo, baking, traveling, the casino and spending time with the grandkids. She was preceded in death by her father, Issac Patterson, Sr.; one sister, Cleola Patterson, and nephew, Shawn Hopkins. She leaves to mourn her death husband of 50 years, Willie B. Coleman of Jackson, MI; mother, Inez Patterson of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Tammy Rey; son, Cedrick Coleman both of Jackson, MI; six grandchildren: Carmelia Graham, Juvell Graham, Micheal Jones, Antwain Johnson, Sebian and Zion Coleman; eleven great- grandkids all of Jackson, MI; four sisters: Willie Mae Smith (Willie), Rutha Mae (Ricky) Hogan, Lee Etta Williams and Earlene Milon; five brothers, Issac Jr. (Pam) Patterson, Willie Lee (Tina) Patterson, Leo Earl (Jane) Patterson, Samuel Lee Patterson and Gregory Darnell (Bonita) Patterson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Home Going service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 12:00pm with family hour at the funeral home one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
