

Of Parma, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the age of 96, He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mildred (Bass) Parsons; three children, Randy (Darlene) Parsons, Jeffrey Parsons and Janet Clarkson; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by an infant son; sister, Dorothy Wasielewski, and brothers, Kenneth and Robert Parsons. Ellis was born in Leslie, MI on June 22, 1919 to Lloyd and Lillie Parsons. He was drafted into the United States Army and served during WWII in the South Pacific. Ellis married Millie in Arkansas near the end of the war and returned to Jackson where they raised a family and lived on their 80 acre farm for 61 years. Ellis retired after 28 years as Shift Commander and Captain at the State Prison of Southern Michigan. He was a member of the Moose Lodge where he and Mildred enjoyed dancing. Ellis also enjoyed woodworking, playing cards with his family, traveling the World and grooming his meticulous lawn. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and the family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at Chas. J. Burden & Son funeral home on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, followed by military honors.
