Elsie Marie Maloney

Of Jackson joined her husband of 50 years Russ Maloney in heaven on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at the age of 95. She is survived by her five children Brenda (Bill) Wyman, Esther Kocher, Elaine Smith, Lisa (Rusty) Krieger and Mary Bray (Johnnie) three stepchildren Kenny (Cherilyn) Maloney, Robin (Brenda) Maloney and Joyce Ann (David) Ralston. Numerous grandchildren and great, great-great grandchildren. Son-in-law, Tom Sprague, daughter-in-law, Rose Little (Danny). Sisters, Mary Barnett, Molly Little and Charlene Wilburn. Proceeding in death by Husband Russell Maloney, Parents Cora Pitts and Noel Gillam, Children Gary Little, Janice Sprague, Gilbert Little, Stepson Russell Maloney, Son-in-law‘s Harry Kocher and Paul Smith, Three grandsons, Siblings Delsie, Johnnie, Frank, William - Gilliam, Tanker, Louvenia, Arley and Shirley - Richmond, Charles Newman.

Elsie was the fifth child of 13 born in Logan, West Virginia, but lived in Jackson Michigan for 73 years where she started her family that has grown to over 100 over her 95 years. She always had a huge garden, at first out of necessity, but later in life, she loved being able to share the vegetables with her children and families and to those in need. It was always a beautiful surprise to find a bag of vegetables that she had left on our doorstep. Along with the gardening, she loved to plant flowers. Her yard was so beautiful with the many types and colors. To describe our mom and grandma these words, Quiet and Strong are perfect. She never raised her voice out of anger, but yet she was very strong willed. She loved family, life, and Jesus with all her heart. Our hearts are broken and we will miss her with all of our being, but we know that we will have a beautiful angel watching over us until we are together again. Private services were held.
