

Esther Rae (Vince) Pratt, a devoted Christian and loving parent and grandparent, passed away on December 15, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on November 12, 1936, Esther was married to Allen Warner Pratt, Jr. for 50 years until his passing. She was preceded in death by her husband, son Steven Pratt, granddaughter Hannah Antelo, her parents, and brothers Arthur Vince and Robert Vince.
Esther is survived by her daughters Judith (Timothy) Dennerll, Cheryl Pratt, Lisa (Timothy O'Shaughnessy) Dotson, Nanette (Richard) Poole; and foster son Ernest Tony (Donna) Bierschbach; brother Kenneth Vince; grandchildren Amanda (William Ingerly) Antelo, Nathan (Elisa) Antelo, Alison (Lucas) Schellhammer, Andrea (Darryl) Torrey, Allen Cady, Tyler Dotson, Alixandrea (Travis) Curtis, Austin Dotson, Ashley (Carolynn) Poole and Adam (Dakar Lanzino) Poole, as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Esther's life's work was deeply rooted in her faith and family. A passionate sports fan, she particularly enjoyed Michigan State University basketball and football. Her love for music was evident as she played the organ and piano at various churches and sang in a group called Sweet Adelines during the 1970s. Esther was also a talented seamstress, creating clothing, bridesmaids' dresses, and Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. She had a green thumb, tending to her garden and landscaping with beautiful flowers and bird feeders. Her culinary skills were cherished by her family, as she often baked and cooked favorite meals and desserts. Esther was an avid conversationalist, never leaving out any detail and will be remembered for her strength and independence.
Visitation will be held at Burden-Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home in Jackson, MI, on December 21, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A second visitation will take place at JaxNaz Church in Jackson, MI, on December 22, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Esther will be remembered for her love of family, her faith, and her many talents. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
