Forrest "Rocky" Barron Hills

Of Jackson, MI passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 23, 2022 at the age of 64. He was born November 21, 1958 in Jackson, MI to Benny and Elizabeth “Betty” (Watson) Hills. In addition to his parents, Forrest was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Joy and Elizabeth “Beth.” He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Leanne; children, Laura (Jeremy) Olson and Daniel Hills; bonus children, Todd (Belisa) Astrini-Brzozowski and Chad (Tara) Brzozowski; grandchildren, Penelope and Stella Olson; bonus grandchildren, Francesca “Frankie” and Bailey Astrini-Brzozowski; siblings, Barbara Turner, Bonnie (Jerry) Miller and Michael (Sandy) Hills; brother-in-law Barry Galentine, former wife Michele Hills, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Forrest worked maintenance at Westbay Club Apartments. As evident in his work, he could repair or fix nearly anything and was always willing to lend a hand. In his spare time, Forrest enjoyed canoeing, bicycling, and playing his guitar - he could listen to a song and then be able to play it from memory without sheet music. He was happiest when enjoying nature, especially when out on the river. A family man, Forrest loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a kind, caring, funny, generous soul who could make anyone smile. Forrest will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family ceremony will take place in the spring.
