

Of Jackson, passed peacefully from this Earth into the Glory of her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, February 25, 2019 at home under the loving care of Hospice, with her husband by her side. She was born on November 30, 1991 in Battle Creek, MI. Preceded in death by her mother, Misty Swartz; grandmother, Manoah Henley; and grandfather, Donald L. Swartz. Survived by her husband, Jacob Greer, with whom she exchanged vows on February 22, 2019; and their children, Sophia Grace-Marie and Jacob Julian; father, Don Swartz; brothers, Donovan (McKenzie Laird) and Bryson Swartz of Battle Creek; grandmother, Joyce Huntington; and mother-in-law, Janet Greer of Jackson; special aunt, Tiriny Robbins (Rob) of Battle Creek; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends. She will also be greatly missed by her beloved dog, Buttons. She was a server and bartender at Applebee’s in Jackson. She was an avid Michigan Wolverines fan along with Detroit Lions and Tigers sports teams. She enjoyed arts and crafts, jigsaw puzzles, and had recently aspired to getting her real estate license. Gabby was a devoted mother to her children, as they were her inspiration in her battle with oral cancer. Diagnosed in February of 2018, she had surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and immunotherapy. In September 2018 she achieved cancer-free status and returned to work. Sadly, the disease returned in January of 2019. Throughout her good fight of faith, the community rallied around her and her family, sharing prayers, transportation for care, fund-raising, and caring for the children. The family is extremely grateful for the outpouring of support. A celebration of her life will be held at New Covenant Living Church (2405 W. Washington Ave. Jackson) Friday, March 1, 2019 at 5:00 P.M. with Reverend Ronald Brooks officiating. Private burial Fifield Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home, Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. and Friday at the church 4:00 P.M. until service time.
