

Of Jackson, passed away September 15, 2012 at the age of 93 years. Irene was born April 21, 1919 in Joyner, AR, the daughter of Maude and Naith Thompson. She resided in Jackson for many years from 1947-1987, and then relocated to Lansing, MI to live with her son, Charles. She enjoyed life with her family especially Christmas and cookouts. She loved big bands and gospel music, collected antique dishes, and memorabilia. She found humor in many of life’s moments and would often relate funny family stories. Best of all was her home cooking and baking. After her health failed in 1997, she was cared for at the Lansing Health Care Facility. In 2002 she was transferred to the Jackson County Medical Care Facility where she resided until earlier this month. She had one marriage to the late George Reynolds to which three children were born. Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Irving, N.T., Harvey and Spencer Thompson; two sisters, Lessie Garrett and Essie Thompson; and one granddaughter, Amber Reynolds. She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Peola Dickerson of Atlanta, GA; two sons, Charles and Eddie Reynolds both of Lansing, MI; and one daughter, Margaret Reynolds of Jackson, MI; three grandchildren, Greg Reynolds of Elyria, OH, Kimberli Williams of Brentwood, CA, Lianne Reynolds of Belmont, CA; one great-grandson, Tylin Sage Williams of Brentwood, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Walter Pryor officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until time of service. Interment Woodland Cemetery.
