On September 6, 2010, our husband, dad, and Papa left this world for his heavenly home surrounded by those who loved him the most. He leaves to cherish his life and memory, the love of his life for 64 years, his wife, Emma; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Brad White; grandchildren, Sara and Eric Whitney, Ben and Lacy White; great-grandchildren, Dupree Whitney and Jackson White; brother, Shorty Farmer; sister-in-law, Judy Smith; several nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends and neighbors. Jack was born in Symsonia, Kentucky June 19, 1922. He proudly served his country during World War II. After moving to Michigan, he worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., retiring after 26 years. He was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Chapel and a long time volunteer with World Changers. Jack taught us the fundamentals of a good life- If you want something, work for it. Always keep your word, a handshake is as good as a written contract. Most important he lived his faith. His gardens were legendary, his character, unquestionable and his smile, contagious. A special thank you to Allegiance Hospice who helped us grant Jack's request to come home. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home Friday, September 10, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Weich officiating. Burial at Fifield Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions may be made to Allegiance Hospice or Faith Baptist Chapel. "I'M DOIN' ALRIGHT"
