

Of Jackson passed away at his home under the kind and compassionate care of Henry Ford hospice and his family at the age of 74 on Monday, February 24, 2025. He will be remembered by his wife of nearly 55 years, Pat Chamberlain; two daughters, Frances (Steven) Risinger and Crissie (Jason) Crabtree; seven grandchildren, Travis Benn, Ryan (Kristina) Benn, Kelcey (Wayne) Grover, Alyssa (Ashten) Griswold, Caitlyn Risinger, Kyle (Anna) Crabtree and Bella Crabtree; six great grandchildren, Jaelynn, Brently, Lincoln, Nikolai, Lunan, Colsen, and one on the way, as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters. Jim was born to Rex and Frances Chamberlain in Jackson, MI on January 28, 1951, and is a 1969 graduate of Jackson High. He married Patricia Ackerman on April 25, 1970, and together they raised a family. Jim spent his career in health care, he retired from Michigan Department of Corrections after 30 years of service, prior to that he was employed at Foote Hospital. He enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and golfer, and enjoyed watching sports, especially U of M sports. According to his wishes, cremation has been chosen. Family will receive friends for a Memorial Visitation at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave. Jackson, MI 49202) Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
