

Of Jackson, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the age of 63. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Karen (Kent) Holdaway; six children, Krista (Jared) Johnson, Joseph (Heather) Holdaway, Daniel (Ruth) Holdaway, Lana Holdaway, Carol (Nate) Hammar and Desiree Canada; as well as many beloved grandchildren; sister, Vicky Phillips; brother, Bruce Holdaway. Jimmy was born to Bobby and Jim Holdaway in California. He served in the United States Air Force for over nine years as a Staff Seargant and specialized in F-111 Avionics. Before meeting his wife and starting a family, he worked as a search and rescue volunteer during his military service which fostered his lifelong love for mountain climbing. His career was spent in computer electronics. Boy Scouting in his youth led to his passion for camping and participating as a Scout Leader. He was a member of the Order of the Arrow and had earned his woodbadge. He enjoyed astronomy, golfing, video games and composing music on the computer. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where a service honoring his life is scheduled on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Bishop Jerry Larsen officiating. Family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Friday at 9:30 until service time. He will be laid to rest at Ft. Custer National Cemetery on Monday, January 10, 2011. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be greatly appreciated.
