Of Jackson, passed away February 8, 2012 at the age of 87. John was born to Robert and Elizabeth Miller on August 5, 1924. He was a certified shell-back serving on the USS Indiana during World War II. John was employed as a Tool and Die Maker and enjoyed horse racing. He is survived by step-son, Pete Dalton; siblings, Marion Craft, Henry (Norma) Jackson, Rosemary Brown, Betty (Jerry) Scott; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the employees at Jackson County Medical Care and the employees at the east-end Meijer store. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 10, 2012 from 4-8 pm. A military service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 10 am at the Hillcrest Oak Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the Salvation Army.
