Of Jackson, Michigan passed away on June 27, 2018 at Promedica Coldwater Regional Hospital, age 86. Jack was born on October 29, 1931 in Republic, Michigan to parents John and Winifred (Dodge) Withiel. He graduated from Negaunee High School in 1950 where he played football. Jack married the love of his life, Sadie Baisden, in Ishpeming, Michigan on October 4, 1966. Jack was a Corrections Officer for the State of Michigan where he worked for 29 years. He was an avid hunter, campe,r and outdoorsmen. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sadie; sisters-in-law, Mary Howe, Norma Daly, Louise (Bill) Sutherland, and Kay (Harry) Winters; brothers-in-law, Earl (Carlene) Baisden, Cary (Jeanette) Baisden, Charles (Pamela) Baisden, and Bruce (Donna) Baisden; numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lou Lentz; and infant son, David. Per Jack’s wishes, cremation has been chosen with a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
