Joyce (Polly) Hulburt

Of Jackson, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 13, 2018 under the loving care of her family and Heartland Hospice. Born March 28, 1931 in Jackson, Michigan, the youngest child of Margaret and Orla Sargent, Polly will be remembered for her gracious personality and friendly spirit who welcomed everyone into her home. She loved spending time with her family and entertaining neighbors and friends. Her most enjoyable memories were the many years she spent traveling with her husband through 48 states. Polly retired in 1989 after a successful career as bookstore manager of Jackson Community College. She now joins her parents, brother Gordon, and sister Doris Sargent. Polly will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 65 years, Richard, two sons, Brent (Sharon) Grand Rapids, MI and Brian (Mary Jo) Virginia Beach, VA, grandchildren, Brent Hulburt II, Erin (Steve) Hartley, Nancy Hulburt, Michael (Rachel) Hulburt, and great- grandchildren, Lucy & Charlie Hartley. A memorial service will be held the Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home, Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, or a charity of one’s choice.
