

Joyce Ann Ratliff, 77, of Hot Springs Village, AR., passed away February 1, 2015 after a 10-month battle with malignant brain cancer. Born February 25, 1937 in Van Wert, Ohio, to Ralph Glen Wise and Annetta Sarah (DeYoung) Wise. Joyce grew up in Pittsford, MI., graduated high school in 1955 and Jackson Business University in 1957. Joyce was working in the Legal Department of Commonwealth Associate prior to her leaving Jackson in 1983 due to her husband’s job transfer with Clark Equipment. Joyce and Dick moved to Hot Springs Village in 2003 to retire surrounded by their love of the mountains. She treasured the simple things in life, antique shopping, traveling and spending time with family and friends. While at home she enjoyed stitchery, genealogy, knitting, listening to music and reading. Joyce was a member of the Village Stitchery Club. Joyce passed away peacefully with her husband of 56 years, by her bedside. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Julia Colleen Cantley, and survived by her husband Dick Ratliff, daughter Linda Dianne Botkin, grandchildren Graham Killian Botkin and Chelsea Lynn Botkin, grandchildren’s father Todd Botkin, siblings Miriam Pearl Wise Klingenberg and Ralph Michael Wise. Visitation will be held at the Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Sunday August 9, 2015 between 3:00-5:00 P.M. Burial will be at a later date in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Jackson, MI., where she will lay alongside their daughter Julie.
