Lois A. Rice

Of Jackson passed away at Allegiance Health Sunday January 15, 2012 age 77. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Barrett Hornberger, her parents Charles and Orpha Lockwood, brother Donald Lockwood and sister Alice Bissell. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Robert S.; daughters Deborah (Alan) Payne of Phoenix, Deirdre (Randy) Cox of Okemos, Diana (Mark) Clevenger of Jackson, Donita (Daniel) Baker of Clark Lake; grandchildren Monica Hornberger, Lyndsay (Troy) Smith, Ryan (Jennie) Clevenger, Ian and Adam Baker, Stephanie (Shawn) Jarman, Brandon and Troy Payne; great grandchildren Avrianna Smith, Ashlyn and Dylan Jarman, Lily Payne; sisters Nancy Kirby and Peggy (Richard) Daly; brother Thomas (Karlyn) Lockwood and many nieces and nephews. She was dedicated to her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed cake decorating, sewing and skit writing/performing. She graduated from Vandercook High School in 1952. She was a member of Lansing Ave. Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Ladies Bible study and worked in the AWANA program. Funeral services will be held at Vandercook Baptist Church 703 E. McDevitt, Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Dave Oberst officiating with burial at Roseland Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. and Thursday at the church 10:00 A.M. until service time. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Lansing Ave. Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
