Lowell Wayne Hawkins

Of Jackson, went home to be with his Savior on his 85th birthday, February 7, 2016. Those left to remember him are his wife of 63 years IdaMae (Feldpausch) Hawkins, his children, Deborah DeKarske, Rachel (Joe) DeKarske, Mark Hawkins (fiancé Joyce Hile), Dan (Mary) Fletcher, Gary (Amy) Fletcher, Sarah Hawkins (fiancé Luke Rowe), 28 Grandchildren, 15 Great-Grandchildren. He was the eldest of seven sons born to Wayne and Leitha (Grow) Hawkins. Surviving are brothers, Robert (Betty), Owen, Warren (Deanna), Wayne (Vikki), Donald (Sharon), several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Lawrence, sisters-in-law, Joyce, Nancy, daughter Eunice, son-in-law Michael DeKarske, daughter-in-law Loretta Hawkins. He served his country in the Korean War, 1953-1955. The job he loved most was traveling the US as Owner/Operator of Hawkins Trucking. He was an avid golfer and fanatic U of M sports fan. He attended Pathway Community Church, 5225 Clinton Road, where services will be held, Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 11am. Visitation will be held at the Church, Friday 4-7pm, and Saturday10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help the family with expenses, or Pathway Community Church Benevolent Fund.
