Makinley Briana Heard

Makinley Briana, age 8, passed away on April 7, 2022. She was wrapped with love as she left this earth in her mother and father’s arms. She was born with a very rare disorder and battled many illnesses and hospitalizations in her short eight years. She was a courageous fighter until the end. Although her time on earth was brief, she touched many people’s lives and taught many valuable lessons to all who came to know her. She was a beautiful, strong and brave child with a smile that lit up the room. She is loved deeply. Makinley is survived by her parents Jordan and Crystal Heard, her siblings Owen, Damontez & Graceyn. Her grandparents Brian and Lou Ann Maxson, Joe and Tammy Prather and Calvin and Alicia Williams. Great grandparents John Olson, Harry and Mary Oexler and Willa Bennet. Great Aunt Beth Maxson. Aunts and uncles: Adam Maxson, Jacque Williams, Jermaine Williams, Darrell and Shazia Heard, Sylvia and Alan Lowe, Sirena (Chris) Prather, Jessica and Robert Porter, Josh and Angela Williams and a multitude of cousins. She is preceded in death and welcomed at the heavenly gate by her guardian Angel great-grandma, Barbara Olson. Also preceded by great grandparents Bill Maxson, and Fred and Mina Heard as well as her step great grandparents. A celebration of Makinley’s life will be held at 12PM on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church (122 W Wesley Jackson, MI 49201). The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, April 15, 2022 from 4PM-8PM at Burden & Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Ave, Jackson, MI 49202). In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in her name to Lyle Torrant Center, C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, Rainbow Connection (rainbowconnection.org), Trinity Lutheran or, Greater Bible Way Temple.
