Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Sigmund and Margaret, a baby brother Larry, her sister Yvonne, brother Jerry, a great-niece "Little Jennifer" Noel; her in-laws Harriette and Denver Huff, and sister-in-law Irene W.
She is survived by her brother Walter Wasielewski and sister Margie (Mike) Vogt, nieces, nephews, cousins, many Godchildren and the Huff-Gorzen Families.
Mary attended all 12 years of schooling at St. John’s School in Jackson where she graduated in 1966. She worked many years as a keypuncher after graduating from EDS in Lansing, Michigan, and was employed by Jacobson’s in Jackson. Mary loved to travel with Jackson Trippers and was Mrs. Claus along with Santa Jim at many parties. They also attended many Rose Queen, Miss Michigan, and two Miss America Pageants. Mary enjoyed singing with Sweet Adelines at various venues but had a hard time with the choreography. In her retirement years she made greeting cards with Stampin Up gals as well as Anna Griffin cards for shut-ins and those who served our country. Mary adored her cocker dogs and cats and will miss her Moose and Pageant buddies and all those who made her feel loved and kept her laughing after Jim's passing in 2004.
Special thanks to her helper of many years and classmate Margie (Bilaski) Rogers. Family and friends are exceedingly grateful for the extraordinary care offered to Mary on both floor 5 of west tower and floor 6 of the main hospital at Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson. Her doctors, nurses, and support staff truly helped make Mary’s transition into eternal life a peaceful experience.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Jackson County Animal Society or Shriners Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church in Jackson on Saturday, July 26, 11AM, also Mary & Jim’s wedding anniversary. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery after which a luncheon will be served at Eagle’s Nest on Clark Lake.
