

On May 21, 2011 Mary Fay Johnson went to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Sally Loyd, brother George Reynolds, sister Leslie Howard. Mary (Fay) was born to her parents on September 28, 1939 in Kaiser, AR., then moved to Michigan when she was a young child. She attended Jackson Public Schools and graduated from Jackson Community College with a degree in accounting. Mary (Fay) was employed by Mercy Hospital and she retired from Amtrak in 2001 after 22 years of service. She was married to the late Eugene Gossett to which four children were born Garland (Kimberly), Duane (Doreen) Maurice (Mary) and Michele and she was also married to Johnnie E. Johnson Sr. to which three children were born, Sylvia, Johnnie Jr. and Phillip Sr. Mary (Fay) raised her seven children as a single parent and enforced STRICT RULES. You could always find her at a child, grand child, school, church of sporting event. She attended both Adams Street and Higby Street Church of Christ. Mary (Fay) left this earth battling illness, she loved the Lord and her family very much. She did everything her mother did and they passed this from generation to generation always having children no matter who they belonged too. Funeral services will be held Thursday May 26, 2011 at Faith Temple Word of Faith Ministries (Faith Nation) 12:00 P.M with John S. Walker officiating. Burial Woodland Cemetery. Family hour at the church Thursday 11:00 A.M. until service time. Viewing at the funeral home Wednesday 4-8 P.M.
