Maxine Marie Kohn

Of Grass Lake, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the age of 87. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Herbert A. Kohn; two daughters, Sharon (Chris) Thomsen and Karen “Susie” Clark; three grandchildren, Sean (Amanda) Thomsen, Jamie (Nikki) Thomsen and Jeff Clark; six great grandchildren, Garrett and Christopher Thomsen, Michaela Quinlan, Jeffrey Clark Jr., Brock and Brady Thomsen; five brothers, Jerry, Lynn, Don, Phil and Ross and sister, Barbara. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Glen, Vaughn, Lyle, Gene and sister, Helen. Maxine was born in Jackson County on November 23, 1926 to Lewis and Kathryn (Seeger) Sherwood. She graduated from Grass Lake High School in 1945 and married her Sweetheart in 1947. Together they raised their family. She retired from Jacobson’s and was a long time member of Loomis Park Baptist church. A service celebrating her life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 2:00PM with Pastor Rich Zawadzki officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM. She will be laid to rest at Maple Grove (West) Cemetery in Grass Lake.
