

Of Jackson, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at the age of 80 while under the kind and compassionate care of the staff members at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Burke; son, Ricky Hobart and sister, Leigh Gillett. She is survived by her children, Kathy (Paul) Gentry of Highland, TX, Debbie Howell of Pineville, WV, Nate (Teresa) Hobart of Jackson, MI, Gregory Hobart of Luling, TX, Jeff (Kathy) Hobart of Jonesville, MI and Brenda (Al) Kaiser of Jackson, MI; grandchildren, Rabecka, Danny, TK, Marty, Sam, Chris, Kitt, Krista, Shandel, Casey, Stacey, Nancy, Sarah, Jena, Megan, and Jessie as well as many great grandchildren; brother, James Booth; sister, Carolyn Fletcher; nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. Nancy was born to Cecil and Thelma (Crosby) Booth in Jackson on May 2, 1937. She retired from Hanover-Horton as a School bus driver after over 28 years. She was involved with 4-H, enjoyed the outdoors and at one time was extremely active with the Grace Baptist Church in Somerset, Michigan. She appreciated and looked forward to traveling during her retirement. Nancy was very talented at sewing. In addition to making a quilt for everyone in her family she sewed dresses and doll clothes. She was a loving mother, grandma and great grandmother. She touched the hearts and lives of many. She will be greatly missed. A service celebrating her life will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rod Walker officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
