Of Grass Lake, Michigan passed away on Thursday, October, 26, 2023 at the age of 78. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Frances Leightner; two sons, Shawn and Craig Leightner; two grandchildren, Connor Leightner and Kayla Brown; five great grandchildren; sister, Michelle (Tim) Cook; brother, Kevin Leightner as well as nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Kaye Norton. Philip was born to Alfred and Marguerite Leightner in Eaton Rapids, Michigan on September 24, 1945. He graduated from Eaton Rapids High School and married Frances on August 7, 1971 and together they raised their family. He then retired from Tenneco after many years of service. Philip had a strong Faith in the Lord and attended Harmony Baptist Church (6475 Ann Arbor Rd. Jackson, MI 49201), where a service Celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
