Fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, September 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Jean E. Avery. He is survived by their only child Aaron; brothers, Phillip (Jacqueline), Charles, Michael (Beverly), Donald (Maryanne); beloved sister, Sandra (Steve) Muckler as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was born in Jackson on June 9, 1937 to Carl and Harriett (Fleschier) Avery. He graduated from Jackson High School in 1955; then served in The Marine Corps Reserves and received an Honorable Discharge. Bob retired from the Post Office after 29 years of service. He touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at St. Demetrius Orthodox Church (3043 Seymour Road Jackson, 49201) on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends for visitation at the Church on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Panihida Service at 7:00 p.m.
