Of Springhill, FL and Parma, Jackson, MI went home to be with his Lord on July 16, at the HPH Hospice Center in Springhill, at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vaine and Nellie Hess; brother, Gerald. He is survived by his loving wife, Thelma "Sis" of 67 years.; daughter, Linda (Tom) Risner of Parma, MI; son, Robert (Mary) Hess Jr. of Bluffton, SC; five grandchildren, Kim (Steve) Brooks, Jim (Kristin) Risner, Rob (Julie) Hess, Christopher and Chelsea Hess; five great-grandchildren, Eric and Josh Eggleton, Brandon Hess, Phoebe and Henry Risner. He retired from Acme Industry with 42 years of service. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Parma Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Weeki Wachee, FL. He loved working with wood and building things. Funeral services were held in Springhill, FL. Graveside service will be held on August 1 at Roseland Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m.
