Roger Jones

70, of Paducah, KY died at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah. Mr. Jones was a retired pastor, serving in his ministry in Michigan, Arkansas, Kentucky and Ohio. He had visited mission fields in Papua, New Guinea, Peru and Austria. His favorite pastime was being with his family and being with God's people. He was former owner of Father and Son Painting in Wauseon, Ohio, a 1960 graduate of Vandercook Lake High School in Michigan and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Paducah. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda J. Jones of Paducah; two sons, Scott Jones and wife Susan of Paducah and Scott Johnson and wife Kim of Wauseon, OH; two daughters, Marcia Gilbert and husband Jeff of Metropolis, IL and Amy Peal and husband Greg of Calvert City, KY; two brothers, Brent Jones and Bo Jones, both of Jackson, MI.; two sisters, Joy Moss of Jackson, MI. And Marilyn Kashi of Muncie, IN; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cynthia Britton Jones in 1972 and his parents, Houston B. Jones and Madge Green Carey. Funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Burden Funeral Home in Jackson, MI with Brother Mike Channell and Brother William Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Roseland Cemetery in Jackson. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Burden Funeral Home.
