

Of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the age of 91, under the kind and compassionate care of the staff at the Henry Ford Hospice Home. He will be remembered by his beloved wife of over 50 years, Elsie Maloney; eleven children, Robin (Brenda) Maloney, Kenny (Cherlyn) Maloney, Joyce (David) Ralston, Brenda (Bill) Wyman, Esther Kocher, Elaine Smith, Lisa (Rusty) Krieger, Mary Bray (Johnnie), 33 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children; Russell Maloney, Gilbert Little, and Janet Sprague; grandsons, Jason Wyman, Jeffery Maloney, and Jason Maloney; sons-in-law, Harry Kocher, and Paul Smith; siblings, Beatrice Maloney-Schmidtz, Ray Maloney, Raymond Maloney, Charlotte Maloney-Fiddler, Sandra Maloney-Adamczyk, and Jay Bird Maloney. Russell was born in Breathitt, Kentucky to Forrest and Stella Maloney on February 6, 1932. On November 6, 1973 he married the love of his life, Elsie Little. Together side by side they built their dream home. He retired twice, first from Goodyear after 27 years of service and then again from Adco Products with 13 years. He then went on to work with an asphalt company driving the roller, and lastly he owned Cascade tree service. Whether for businesses or himself, he never stopped working. At the age of 90 he still maintained his lawn and cared for his chickens and the wildlife animals. He loved the hunting trips that he spent with his family and friends. Russell earned 4 medals in his military career and was extremely proud of his Military Heritage. Russell touched the hearts and lives of many and will be greatly missed. A celebration of his life will be held at Burden & Patience- Montgomery Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Military Honors.
