Stella June Miller

Of Jackson County, Michigan passed away at the age of 97 on Monday, October 10, 2022, while under the compassionate care of the staff at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home. June was born to Jacob and Fila Chloe Miller in Allen Township, Darke County, Ohio on June 4, 1925.

After graduating from High School, June enlisted in the US Cadet Nurse Corps that was shortened by the end of WWII. She continued her education to become a California licensed cosmetologist in Los Angeles, California. Later her various skills and jobs included employment at Knapp’s store and Spartan Motel in Lansing, Michigan. She enjoyed reading recipe books and collecting recipes. She really liked eating York Peppermint Patties. Her mature years included stays at various group homes in the greater Jackson, Michigan area (Brooklyn, Clarklake, Grass Lake, Jonesville, and Adrian). Grateful appreciation to The Jackson County Guardian Services for the continuing care of June throughout her senior years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 16-year old brother Lawrence, her 10-year old half-sister Zelda Ilo Taylor, her 65-year old half-brother Carl Clifford Taylor, sister-in-law Alice. Also preceding her in death nephew George and nieces Lila, Ella, Joyce, Zelda, Mary, grandniece Vicki and great grandnephew Ryan. She is survived by her nieces, Donna (Bruce), Rose (Andy), Ida, Dorothy, Agnes and nephews Earl (Dee), and Carl (Debbie), 17 grandnieces/nephews, 23 great grandnieces/nephews, and 10 great-great grandnieces/nephews. She will be laid to rest with family members at Webster Cemetery in Rossburg, Ohio.
