Steven “Steve” Leonard Mudge, age 59, of Jackson was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away on January 8, 2022 with his wife Lisa by his side. He was born on November 17, 1962 in Jackson, Michigan. After graduating high school from Lumen Christi he continued his studies at Spring Arbor University. He worked for Consumers Energy in Jackson where he started in the mail room, and worked his way up to project leads and management over the course of 35 years. Steve left this world joining his mother and father, Lavern and Barbara Mudge. Steve will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Lisa Mudge, their 3 children Whitney (Cory) Moore, Hayley (Chad) Zitzelsberger, Zachariah (Abigail) Mudge; 6 grandchildren; his sisters Christine (Mark) Seiler, Mindy (Jeff) Parsons, and Betsy (Denny) Keller. Steve was a lover of the outdoors. When he wasn’t gardening, splitting wood, or working on home improvement projects, he enjoyed golfing, playing euchre, carpentry, grilling, and spending time with his family and friends. He was always known for being the life of the party and had the innate ability to make everyone around him laugh. He kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances, all the way to the end of his life. Steve’s sense of humor and desire to help others will live on in those that loved him so much.
