Susanna Loretta Thompson

Of Jackson, MI passed away December 11, 2019 at the age of 102. She was born on January 27, 1917 to parents, William and Edith Zech. Susanna married the love of her life, Edward H. Thompson in Berrien County, MI on November 1, 1941. Susanna was the owner of Sunset Gardens Greenhouse for many years. She also was a homemaker and loved being with family and friends. Susanna was a member of the Faith Baptist Church of Chelsea, MI, Gideon Auxiliary, and Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service (RVICS). Susanna is survived by her children, Gerald (Ann) Thompson, Judith Walker, Kay Campbell, Sue (Phillip) Gimlich, Nancy Wallen, Mary (Leland) Shinabery and Lynette Thompson; daughter-in-law, Martha Thompson; 29 Grandchildren; 62 Great Grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mildred Kasischke and Alice Troutman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Thompson; son, James Thompson; Parents and 8 siblings. A celebration of Susanna’s life will be held December 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church of Chelsea (4030 Kalmbach Rd. Chelsea, MI) with Pastor M. Adam Summers officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 am until time of service. Susanna will be laid to rest next to her husband at Oak Grove Cemetery in Napoleon, MI.
