Thomas Leonard Lockwood

Thomas L. Lockwood, age 84, of Jackson, MI, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Henry Ford Hospice Home surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Grass Lake, MI on February 15, 1938 to the late Charles and Orpha Lockwood. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Karlyn (Minder); five children, Teresa (Rick) Miles, Tamara (Tom) Mulligan, Anita (Boyd) Robinson, Leonard Lockwood and Charles Lockwood; four step-children, Deborah (Jack) King, Mark (Tammy) Minder, Diana (John) Gorney, and Lisa (Rudy) Ojeda; 21 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Daly; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Donna; siblings, Don Lockwood, Alice Bissell, Lois Rice and Nancy Kirby. Tom loved people and never met a stranger. He loved nature, gardening, golf and traveling with his wife and family. He retired from Lefere Forge and made many good friends along the way, especially Richard Williams and Dave Weston. Per Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at Liberty Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Burden-Patience-Montgomery Funeral Home (1806 E. Michigan Avenue, Jackson, MI) on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM. Family will receive friends for visitation at 10:00 AM until the time of service. The family would like to extend a "special" thank you to the staff of the Henry Ford Hospice Home for their loving care and dedication.
