Of Jackson, MI passed away on June 21, 2014 at the age of 74. Thomas was born to parents George and Helen (Laberdie) Sprague on July 29, 1939. Tom raced stock cars and harness horses. He was a coach for Southwest Little League for his children and women’s softball for his wife, children, sister-in-law, several nieces, and cousins. He was so much more than a coach to all his players. Tom retired from Clark Equipment Company. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Sprague; children, Rita (Ben) Lockwood, Diane Sprague, Cindy (Jim) Chrisman, Shelly Sprague, Tom Sprague, Jr., and Connie (George) Husak; twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two siblings, and several grand dogs. He was “Grandpa Sprague” to many others. He is preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers and one sister. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 4:00 PM at 3743 Sargent Rd, Jackson, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your favorite youth sports program in “Coach Sprague’s” name.
