Vicki Elaine Long

Of Jackson, MI, passed away at the age of 66 on Monday, May 27, 2024. She is survived by her husband, Gary; children Jayme (Rik Consten) Long and Gary (Pam) Long; grandchildren Wyatt, Aemilia, and Josie Long. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Vicki was born in Jackson, MI on March 20, 1958, to Richard and Doris Iveson, and was adopted and raised by her maternal grandmother, Charles and Ruth Simpson. She grew up in Jackson and attended Vandercook Lake High School. On an evening out in her younger days, she met Gary Long, also of Jackson, who offered her a ride on his motorcycle and from there on, she was hooked! Vicki and Gary had a fun and exciting romance and fell in love with each other, marrying on June 12, 1979.

Together, they had two children, Jayme and Gary, and she spent years raising her family. In her free time, she loved to spend time in her garden of flowers, as well as read her many books. She settled into a 20+ year career at Meijer where she enjoyed helping others and spending time with her coworkers. Vicki’s most joy, however, came from spending time with her grandchildren; she loved them dearly and was always ready to see them and enjoy their company. She loved her family very much. Gary was steadfast in his love for Vicki, with a marriage of 44 years and was so dedicated and caring for her.

Vicki’s family already miss her dearly but know that she is now celebrating her eternal life.

Cremation has been chosen and there will be a celebration of her life at a later date.
